Capitalists, and especially conservatives are strong supporters of a businesses right to choose to decline service to a customer. The classic one is convenience stores with signs that decline service to customers who don’t have a shirt in, or are not wearing shoes. Essentially, those who conservatives deem “less than”.
But, when the same rules are applied to conservatives, a businesses right to choose who to do business with, for any private reason, suddenly they go complaining to the media. Quite frankly, if a bank, insurance company, or anyone chooses not to take your money that is their right as a private, for-profit business.
If the mortgage I’m currently applying for is declined, can I email the chairman of the bank and complain?
