I now have experience in a large org with failing DevOps so have learned the hard way that it’s critical to the org.
When you have broken/failing DevOps then your dev staff are constantly “fighting an uphill battle” just to do their jobs. That quickly becomes tiresome and de-motivating.
In this case, I’ve logged in on a Sunday with the intent of getting some quiet, focused work done. 2/2 dev virtual servers are broken and I cannot do any of the software engineering work I’m paid for until I resolve the infrastructure issues I was not hired to do (nor do I have a great deal of experience with AWS infrastructure).
